Former disgraced NHL player Todd Bertuzzi comes out of retirement to play pro hockey
Former NHL forward Todd Bertuzzi, best known for his time with the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings, has returned to the ice to play pro hockey.
He might be 50 years old, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still have the burning desire to play hockey.
Former NHL All-Star Todd Bertuzzi, best known for his time with the Vancouver Canucks and Detroit Red Wings, is going to be suiting up for the Cambridge Hornets in Allan Cup Hockey.
He last played professionally in 2014.
During an introductory presser, Bertuzzi
said that for him, playing pro hockey is akin to riding a bicycle.
I believe it's like riding a bike. Obviously there's going to be a lot of younger guys, faster guys and all that. I respect the league and I respect what they're doing. I'm not coming back as a carnival. I feel healthy enough to play, and I'd love to come play with them and help them win a championship
He's also currently the head coach of the Cambridge Redhawks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Bertuzzi will also forever infamously be known for his actions against former Colorado Avalanche forward Steve Moore in a March 2004 game in Vancouver that resulted in his suspension for the rest of the year, including the playoffs.
