There's some skepticism about Jeff Blashill's arrival in Chicago, and Tyler Bertuzzi, who played for him in Detroit, sent a clear message to Connor Bedard of what to expect.

The Chicago Blackhawks will return to the United Center Ice in 2025-2026, looking remarkably different. Jeff Blashill will take the reins in Chicago, and the only player who knows anything about the coach, is Tyler Bertuzzi.
Bertuzzi played under Blashill at the beginning of his NHL career in 2016-2017. He was developed under Blashill's coaching and feels very confident in his abilities.
His latest statement seeks to quell concerns about his abilities, including fellow teammate Connor Bedard.
«It's cool to see him get a spot back in the NHL [as a head coach],» Bertuzzi said, per NHL.com. «He did a great job with us in the Red Wings and I'm just looking forward to working with him again.

Bertuzzi arrived in Chicago in July 2024 after being contacted by Nick Foligno and is now on the verge of playing his second season in the Windy City.
This time with a very familiar face, Bertuzzi knows all of Blashill's tips, tricks, and philosophy behind his coaching style.
«He likes to preach simplicity, north-south, play hard and obviously plays will be made when they're available,» Bertuzzi added. «If you play hard for him, he's an easy coach to get along with.

Bertuzzi credits Blashill with helping carve out a full-time career in the NHL, and has found himself playing on Stanley Cup-contending rosters in Boston and Toronto.
But Chicago is a different animal altogether.
Hopefully, under Blashill, Bertuzzi can find a consistent pace of production, as last season we saw him ebb and flow as the season progressed.
In 82 games this year, he scored a total of 46 points (23 goals, 23 assists) and we could see him improve under Jeff Blashill once more.
