Edmonton's iconic monumental statue of Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky lifting the cup has been vandalized in the most brutal way, according to a report from
Global News.
The statue stands at 9-foot-2 and a whopping weight of 950-pounds, which has been cherished and a tourist attraction since being built in 1989.
'The Great One's' statue has not been spray painted, smashed or broken in any way, but now has feces smeared all over it, and according to Dean Blundell, it was human turds used.

Two fans, Lorne Thurston and Joseph McIntyre, who were visiting from Nova Scotia and hoping to get a photo with the historic monument, were quite disappointed when arriving to the statues location.
«Disappointing,» Lorne said. «It shouldn't have been done.»
«I thought people had more class.» Said Joseph.
The executive vice-president of external affairs with OEG Sports & Entertainment, Tim Shipton, voiced his frustration in a statement on the vandalizm, and also revealed that they are currently investigating the matter.
"We are currently investigating and will take the appropriate next steps as information becomes available."
"We have zero tolerance for vandalism of any kind within our district, especially one of our city's most iconic landmarks that celebrates the career of Wayne Gretzky, the greatest hockey player to ever play the game, and his special connection with Oilers fans around the world," Shipton said in a statement.
The four-time Stanley Cup Champion was traded to Los Angeles in the 1988 season, and faces a new whole wave of dislikeness from many in 2025.
