Carter Hart's NHL return date reportedly confirmed and 4 teams are said to be in the running
While Carter Hart's future is in question, his goal to return to professional hockey has multiple teams interested in his services, reportedly including GM Stan Bowman and the Edmonton Oilers.
Carter Hart was once thought to be the Philadelphia Flyers' goalie of the future.
He was projected to be a future star in the league and was a great netminder behind some decent Flyers teams.
Now with news he's cleared to return to professional hockey, he waits for the go-ahead from the NHL.
Even then, teams are awaiting their chance to secure their next franchise goalie: Carter Hart.
With news of his intent to return to the NHL, there have been multiple teams linked to the netminder, including the Edmonton Oilers and former Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman.
As with anything in the NHL, nothing is certain. But Hart will be given a shot to make an NHL lineup.
We are expecting an announcement within the next few weeks on Hart's road back into the NHL as there are a lot of teams who would bring him in on a PTO as at least 4 organizations have told us if he's cleaned to return we will bring him in.
In 26 NHL games played in 2023-24, he finished the year with a 2.80 GAA and a .906 SV%.
He still has plenty of promise to offer his next NHL squad, and now it comes down to patience and numbers.
The former Flyers starting goalie could end up fielding offers from contenders like the Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.
No other teams have been mentioned since, but you have to assume teams that want a low-risk, high-reward deal are involved.
Hart will be a key piece in any lineup he joins, and now we'll wait to see when he signs a new deal in the NHL.
