Auston Matthews Trending Over 'Snarky' Comment Towards Reporter
Mark Masters is a highly regarded hockey reporter who mainly covers the Leafs, with occasional World Juniors coverage.
However, like all reporters, he sometimes asks generic questions that do not generate answers. This occurred when he recently interviewed
Auston Matthews.
During a recent practice, Sheldon Keefe had a brief conversation with Matthews and
Mitch Marner.
Fans speculated that Keefe was trying to improve Matthews' scoring opportunities by reuniting the pair. However, some conversations between players and coaches must remain confidential, as Masters learned on Wednesday.
Masters asked Matthews what was discussed during the conversation. However, Matthews declined to answer, stating that certain discussions are private.
"Mark, that's none of your business, honestly. That's between us, I'll leave it at that."
While we are all aware of the potential negative impact the Toronto media can have on a player, it appears that Matthews is handling it gracefully.
