The Blackhawks Have Their Shot at Landing The Next 'Showtime'
Monday night is leading to fans being full of anticipation and excitement as fans eagerly awaited the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery results. Among those anxiously waiting are Blackhawks supporters, hoping that their team will snag the coveted number one overall pick and with it, the highly-touted Connor Bedard.
Unfortunately, the odds are not so much in their favor as they have just an 11.5 percent chance of securing the top spot. However, despite the slim odds, the lottery remains of paramount importance to the team's rebuilding efforts, regardless of whether they end up with the first or fifth overall pick.
The last time the Blackhawks landed the first overall pick? Patrick Kane was drafted...
The Blackhawks have struggled in recent times, and their management knows that a top draft pick is necessary to help get the team back on track. However, they also understand that they need to have a backup plan in case they don't land Bedard, Fantilli, or Michkov. Regardless of where they pick, they are confident that they will land a fantastic player and have the means to make up for the absence of a top-three pick if needed.
While the team would undoubtedly benefit from landing Bedard or Fantilli, it's not the end of the world if they miss out. Of course, it would be a significant setback, but the team has a long-term vision and won't let one missed opportunity derail their efforts. Ultimately, the Blackhawks are in good hands and have a bright future ahead of them, with or without a top-three pick.
