The Chicago Blackhawks found a way to stay relevant against the Edmonton Oilers on home ice, as key players have unveiled a turn in the organization.

While the team would give up 3 goals in OT, the pros could outweigh the cons of this loss.
The news unveiled showed a team that was excellent at 5v5 play.
Hockey StatCards gave us an idea of how the team performed on the ice, with Andre Burakovsky, Artyom Levshunov, Connor Bedard, Ryan Greene, and Matt Grzelcyk contributing to the stellar showing last night.
The team was able to keep the Oilers on their toes until the very end.
Per Natural Stattrick, the team controlled the ice during the 1st and 3rd periods with an xgf% of 56.36 (1st) and 74.18 (3rd).
The graph below, by HockeyStatCards, gives us an idea of the biggest contributors on both teams and individual offense.
While the Oilers outshot the Blackhawks 30-29, the team never faltered.
"When you're down on the road against the defending Stanley Cup finalists, to come back and get a point is good,» Blashill said. «You feel good about that. But once you get to overtime, you want both. Obviously, we didn't have the puck a bunch in overtime, so that's a tough one."

The Chicago Blackhawks Did Hold Their Own Against the Edmonton Oilers

Jeff Blashill's Blackhawks were able to generate more offensive chances against the former Stanley Cup finalists.
The team outshot the Connor McDavid line 18 shot attempts to their 14.
The Original Six squad, led by Bedard, outshot the Oilers, 9 to 4, and kept the game tight with the team staying tied in even-strength scoring chances and high-danger scoring chances.
More importantly, the team was capable of keeping the Oilers at bay the entire 60 minutes. It looks as if the Blackhawks have turned a corner with Blashill helping to lead the way.
One notable player who had just returned from injury was Ilya Mikheyev, and he wasn't a factor.
