After the Chicago Blackhawks took a loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, team captain Connor McDavid appeared visibly annoyed while speaking with the media during his postgame interview.

The Blackhawks took the Oilers to overtime on Saturday, and perhaps it was too close for comfort for Connor McDavid.
McDavid posted an impressive three-assist game while carrying a whopping 25:04 of ice time, but it wasn't his game that was being criticized under a microscope.
It was teammate Evan Bouchard, who's been known to face plenty of criticism as of late, especially after putting pen to paper on a $42M contract extension with the Oilers.
The offensive defenseman has struggled so far this season based off of last year's point production, with just two goals and seven assists in 13 games.

Connor McDavid will not accept the Evan Bouchard slander

One player who won't shy away from standing up for his teammates is captain Connor McDavid, who gladly issued a stern message to reporters, calling them out for criticizing his (Bouchard's) play.
"You guys can say what you want about him. We love him in there. We know his best is among the very, very, very best."

- Connor McDavid
Clearly, McDavid was more than thrilled that Bouchard himself buried the game-winning goal Saturday night to beat the Blackhawks in overtime.
Many were in question when the Oilers decided to name Connor McDavid captain at just 19 years old in 2016, but moments like this shine through and show just why he was named the youngest to wear the 'C' on his chest in franchise history.
