Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks couldn't find a way to stop Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers in their tracks on Saturday.

Despite the great start to the 2025-26 season, the Chicago Blackhawks have hit a rut, losing in overtime to the Oilers.
What matters is how they address the issue, as they've lost to the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers in back-to-back games.
The Oilers are defending Western Conference champions who put up a fight every night they compete on the ice. The defense of Rogers Place is a mandate.
Last night was no different, as they'd find a way to score in the 2nd period, putting them 1-0 over the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks would respond with a score on the power play thanks to the teamwork of Connor Bedard and Tyler Bertuzzi, tying the game.
The team had reinforcements arrive with the return of Ilya Mikheyev, but it wouldn't help.
The tug of war on the ice wouldn't end, with Jack Roslovic being the next player to tally a goal to make it 2-1.
Forward Andre Burakovsky would tie it again at 3:19, which would lead to OT.
After regulation play ended, the Blackhawks would lose their momentum, as defenseman Evan Bouchard would take advantage of the opportunity left to him to utilize Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid to finish the game.
The Blackhawks fell to the Oilers in OT, 3-2.

Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks Failed to Stop the Edmonton Oilers

The Blackhawks were outshot by the Oilers, 30-29, and goaltender Spencer Knight held his own against the onslaught of the opposition.
Knight would hold tight and let in only 3 goals, compared to the walloping he took against the Jets earlier in the week.
Connor Bedard, Ryan Greene, Andre Burakovsky, and Artyom Levshunov would all score a point in the game. Forward Andre Burakovsky would earn the third star, which was rare for a road player, especially in a loss.
While the Blackhawks fell to 5-4-3 and 5th in the Central Division, they did their best to stave off defeat as much as possible.
