Last year, the San Jose Sharks bought our Evander Kane giving him the right to select where he would like to play next. The Sharks ended up having to go through arbitration and multiple cases in regards to the by out, as they did not reach a settlement with forward Evander Kane.
Today, Friday the sixteenth, the San Jose Sharks officially reached a settlement with Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane, and they will be hit with a steep cap penalty it seems.
Frank Servalli also reported the following;
' Sounds like Evander Kane will receive a one-time payment from #sjsharks and the cap penalty for San Jose will be retroactively applied to last season's salary cap.
#sjsharks ended last season with just under $5 million in space, according to @CapFriendly.''
