We're about six weeks away from the start of the 2022-23 NHL regular season, and there are some anxious players in the free agent market still waiting to find a new home.
This includes the new current longest game streak holder 37 year-old Phil Kessel. Phil the thrill has his eyes on moving past the former NHL Iron Man Keith Yandle after having his streak broken by being made a healthy scratch.
Kessel wants to get signed soon as possible. He may get his wish according to Sportsnet's Hockey Insider Eric Francis..
the Calgary Flames are reportedly interested in adding Kessel to add some depth to their scoring this season.
Kessel isn't the first line player anymore but could slot in the Flames second or third line and be effective. Last season in Arizona Kessel had 8 goals, and 44 assists, in 82 games.
