A trade between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins appears imminent, according to multiple reports.
If there hasn't been much action on the trade market this offseason compared to what we've seen in recent years, it doesn't mean we won't see more deals being made before the start of the 2025-26 NHL season.
Many things are almost written on the wall.
The Blackhawks need players, have assets, and want to get older, while the Penguins need assets, have players, and want to get younger.
Deal Incoming Between Chicago and Pittsburgh?
While some fans hoped to see Davidson be active in free agency, the organization decided to wait, like most teams did.
But with sources confirming the Pittsburgh Penguins made some interesting players available, Davidson could be tempted to complete a trade.
The Penguins are looking for young players who can come into the lineup right away. To do so, they could be willing to part ways with a few veterans, including
Rickard Rakell, a player of great interest to Davidson.
The 23-year-old forward scored eight goals and 14 assists in 70 games last season. Over his NHL career, he tallied 54 points, including 20 goals.
