Former ''Mighty Ducks'' actor shares life-changing transformation after overcoming addiction
A wonder story from Wednesday has surfaced involving an iconic character in hockey cinema. Per a report from PageSix dot com, "The Mighty Ducks" actor Shaun Weiss, AKA Goldberg the Goalie, has undergone an incredible transformation after a lengthy battle with addiction.
I feel that it's important to share these types of feel-good stories, because so much of what we see online is shrouded in negativity. Weiss' story is one of not only perseverance, but also one of compassion.
Drew Gallagher, a close personal friend of the former child actor, saw everyone around Weiss essentially just give up on him. Gallagher viewed Weiss as a brother in a lot of ways and was one person who refused to give up on his friend and has shown over the past two years that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help him turn his life around. And he has done just that. Weiss is now two years sober and he has himself and his friend to thank. Below is a photo depicting Weiss at his low point on the left and Weiss now on the right.
The 43-year-old's teeth had almost entirely rotted out of his mouth, but thanks to Dr. Gabe Rosenthal, his smile has been repaired and and was done so free of charge. Such a procedure would normally cost a patient upwards of $80K.
Weiss is now living in a sober living home in California and is reportedly doing quite well. It's a wonderful story and it's evidence of one's ability to turn their life around with a little help from a friend. Congrats to Weiss on his sobriety!
