Blackhawks' future goaltender appears in the world championship.
Having watched the teardown of the Chicago Blackhawks lineup which included their goaltending, many feel that a goaltender will be one of the main shopping points after Connor Bedard is selected.
But it appears that there's a goaltender in the ranks that will be taking notice and that happens to be 20-year-old Drew Commesso.
Commesso stands at 6 foot two 180 pounds, and was selected in the 2020 NHL draft in the second round, 46 pick overall. He currently plays for Boston University and during this season, he started 34 games and had a goals-against average of 2.46 and a save percentage of .913.
He also made The US team for the World Championships that's going on right now overseas. He ended up stepping into a game against France where the United States won 9-0.
It remains to be seen if he will crack the lineup next year as the Blackhawks continue to assess and rebuild their team from the ground up. However, it sounds like they have a promising goaltender shortly.
