As the Chicago Blackhawks GM search continues, it appears they are exhausting every resource, leaving no stone unturned and no door unopened. Could their general manager come from an outside source?
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Hawks are showing interest in Toronto Raptors VP of basketball operations and player development Teresa Resch.
The Hawks' have made it clear that they will look outside the sport of hockey, They're more interested in who they feel would be the best candidate, sports background doesn't matter.
Resch is an interesting choice, she's been involved with the Raptors since 2013, won a championship with them in 2019 and has worn many hats during that time, most notably, the business side of her experience. She could possibly help Chicago rebuild their reputation while also providing a fresh new perspective
Also of note Blake Murphy reports that Raptors Head Coach Nick Nurse has been singing Resch's praises:
To date, Chicago has interviewed Kyle Davidson, Peter Chiarelli and Mathieu Darche among others. However, there doesn't appear to be any end in sight for Chicago's search for their next General Manager
