Hockey is always evolving, always expanding. Those that say the game isn't growing are partly wrong. There are a lot of things in the hockey world that need to be amended, but hockey as a sport is expanding to audiences around the world.
According to their Twitter account, the IIHF is welcoming an 83rd member to its national association. Puerto Rico.
As hockey continues its path of growth, it seems to be gravitating to warmer climates. Hockey historically has been known as a winter sport. But with more countries getting involved, it seems that that may not be the case anymore.
At any rate, this should be celebrated. Welcome to the IIHF Puerto Rico. Take a lap, this is a massive accomplishment that can only do wonders for the game
