It seems like the Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Kyle Davidson has given up a young prospect they acquired in the trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, that sent forward Sam Lafferty and defenceman Jake McCabe to the Leafs for picks and 23 year-old Pavel Gogolev.
Today the Blackhawks announced they have placed forward Pavel Gogolev on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract.
Gogolev scored in his second of two games with the Rockford IceHogs. Gogolev had one more year remaining on his entry-level contract. He is expected to sign with either the Toronto Marlies in the AHL or the Newfoundland Growlers in the ECHL.
Blackhawks Insider Mario Tirabassi revealed:
Gogolev had been playing all season in the ECHL and was acquired by the Blackhawks and had a shot to play in the AHL with Rockford. He scored for them in a recent game too.
Tirabassi Pavel Gogolev is on waivers for the purpose of contract termination.
