A major announcement was just made regarding chicago blackhawks Connor Bedard and he's about to make history

While there haven't been many bright spots this year for the Chicago Blackhawks, the play of former 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard has mostly been one of the positives they can look back on.

With 58 points (20G, 38A) in 74 games, Bedard is on pace to appear in all 82 games for the Blackhawks; he's also just a pair of points away from becoming just the 3rd teenage NHL forward (11th overall) since Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Patrik Laine of the Winnipeg Jets to have multiple 60-point years before turning 21.

With 8 games left in the year for the Blackhawks, Bedard has plenty of time to secure that record for himself.

In his 1st year in the NHL after being selected by Chicago, he had 61 points (22G, 39A). However, he's not been able to make much of an impact in terms of getting the Blackhawks back to the playoffs.

Don't be surprised to see Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson swing for the fences this summer with some of the higher-profile names that will be up for grabs on the free agent market.

Could he convince Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner to take his talents to a 2nd Original 6 club this summer? Maybe Brock Boeser?

The Blackhawks will need considerable reinforcements to play with Bedard, as he's yet to hit legal drinking age in the United States and can't realistically be relied upon to singlehandedly turn the franchise around and lift them out of the NHL basement.
