Trade deadline talks involving Ryan Donato and the Chicago Blackhawks take a surprise turn, and it's drawing backlash to general manager Kyle Davidson.
The Blackhawks were heading into the NHL trade deadline with one of the largest assets on the chopping block, but now things have changed.
It appears that the Blackhawks are holding out on acquiring a large return for a player that was purposely acquired to be flipped, and Kyle Davidson now faces the backlash for it.

The trade market is overly-priced this season, with names like Yanne Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand being traded for first round draft picks.

With Donato having a much better season than both those names, the value for the Blackhawks' leading goal scorer rises to a first round pick and more, but it seems as though Kyle Davidson will not cash in on this golden opportunity.
