The San Jose Sharks are said to be moving on from a pair of players in Mario Ferraro and Timothy Liljegren, and they could both potentially help the Blackhawks.

Per Michael DeRosa of NHL Trade Rumors, the Sharks are close to moving on from one of Timothy Liljegren or Mario Ferraro:
Liljegren's name has been floating around the rumor mill this summer, so he very well could be on the move before the season is here. The 26-year-old defenseman is also entering the final season of his contract and is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), so he could be a player the Sharks are willing to part ways with if they do not view him as a long-term part of their future. He could be a nice pickup for a team looking for help on the right side of their bottom pairing.

Ferraro is another Sharks defenseman who has been creating plenty of chatter as a trade candidate. His name has been popular in the rumor mill since this past trade deadline, and there is no question that several teams would love to add him to their roster. This is because he is a steady top-four defenseman who has an affordable $3.25 million cap hit until the end of the next season.

Both are players that have affordable AAV's and could fit in nicely with the Blackhawks, who are looking for additional talent to surround former 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard with.
The Blackhawks have already acquired former Stanley Cup winner Andrei Burakovsky in a trade with the Seattle Kraken, and an addition of either Ferraro or Liljegren on the blue line would be an additional help.

Connor Bedard recently skated with Macklin Celebrini

Bedard, taken with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, was recently seen skating with another former 1st overall pick, San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini.
Celebrini was taken 1st overall by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, and like Bedard, is the central face of a young rebuilding team that could eventually start to make noise in the NHL again.
