Three-time Stanley Cup Champion comes forward with major statement regarding retirement
Does "Showtime" in Detroit intend on stopping anytime soon? Unlikely.
As many believed this would be it for Kane, it appears there's still many years to come.
Patrick Kane hit the milestone of 1300 career NHL games played this season as a Red Wing.
He'd return to form, scoring 59 points (21 goals, 38 assists) in 72 games under Todd McLellan.
This season was the year when Kane surpassed
Mike Modano, putting up his 17th career 20-goal season. A year of milestones for the forward.
He scored his 20th goal of the 2024-25 season to help the Red Wings to a 5-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at Little Caesars Arena on April 4.
And he doesn't plan on quitting yet.
Kane wants to hit 1500 games eventually, and he provided details on the longevity of his career.
Likewise, Kane has made it known he intends to stay in Detroit as he's found a new home in the Red Wings' top-six.
Before the end of the year, he was flanking rookie
Marco Kasper on the right, who performed up to expectations, scoring 37 points in 2024-2025.
Now, when all is said and done, he'll forever be a legend in Chicago, but we're unsure whether he'll retire a Red Wing or a Blackhawk.
Fingers crossed it happens in Chicago, even if it's a one-day contract.
