Chicago Blackhawks prospect Oliver Moore is making a strong case for himself with the Rockford IceHogs to be included in a call up to help fill the void left by captain Nick Foligno.

The Blackhawks don't have captain Nick Foligno available right now, as he's tending to a family situation involving his daughter with a heart condition.
The Blackhawks could consider calling up forward Oliver Moore from the AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs considering the success that he's had recently.
He already has 5 points (4G, 1A) in just 3 games played, and has shown that his offensive touch isn't to be taken lightly.
Moore was taken with the 19th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Blackhawks and went on to play for the University of Minnesota before staring his professional career with the IceHogs.
He was also taken in the same Draft as Connor Bedard, who went 1st overall after Chicago won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery.
Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson reportedly even tried to trade up to be able to draft Moore, but he was still available when the time came for their 2nd pick.

Oliver Moore is known as a good skater

His scouting report via Elite Prospects points out his stakting abilities as well as his anticipation of upcoming plays.
He's always working to win races, be first on loose pucks, and create. Lots of skating skills: cutbacks, cuts, jabs, heel-to-heel, and more, and he uses them all at different speeds. At his best, Moore's anticipation allows him to process plays one or two steps ahead of everyone else on the ice. Blended eye- level deception and feints clear bodies and sticks, opening up passing lanes that other, less inventive players may not be able to access.

So far in his NHL career, he's played a total of 9 games last year, but didn't register a point.
