As the Chicago Blackhawks work on getting better, but still the potential to tank in the 2024-25 season, they might look to draft James Hagens, who's expected to be the top pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Hagens is a great forward and is about to start his first year at Boston College.
He'll be playing with Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault, both cemented NHL prospects, which should help him show what he can do.
The Blackhawks already have young players like Connor Bedard and Artyom Levshunov, and getting Hagens could make them even stronger.
They've also brought in Tyler Bertuzzi, Teuvo Teravainen, and Alec Martinez to help them compete now while still planning for the future.
The upcoming 2024-25 season will show if the Blackhawks can draft Hagens and make their team better.
No matter how this season goes, whether they do really well or keep rebuilding, Hagens is definitely someone to keep an eye on- for several NHL organizations.
