The Montreal Canadiens have signed a 25-year old forward who was abandoned by the Seattle Kraken and Chicago Blackhawks just weeks ago.

"Looks like Montreal for Joe Veleno"
The Blackhawks acquired Veleno from the Detroit Red Wings on March 7th, and quickly flipped him to the Seattle Kraken in another trade.
GM Kyle Davidson acquired a Stanley Cup Champion from the Kraken in Andre Burakovsky, an ultimate fleece by one of the youngest managers in the NHL.

Veleno signs with Canadiens after buyout from Kraken

Now, just two weeks after being bought out of his $4.55M AAV deal by the Seattle Kraken, the Canadiens are the next team in line willing to take a shot on the No. 3 overall pick of the 2018 NHL entry draft.
"Confirmed in ink! The Canadiens have agreed to the terms of a one-year, one-way contract with forward Joe Veleno."
