The Chicago Blackhawks have parted ways with one of their longest tenured employees
The Chicago Blackhawks have parted ways with a longtime staff member, according to The Athletic's Mark Lazerus and Scott Powers.
Changes had to be made in Chicago after the Blackhawks' third straight season at the bottom of the rankings. The organization is currently looking to find a head coach after parting ways with
Luke Richardson, but it appears they will need to fill another position within the team.
Indeed, the Hawks parted ways with Paul Goodman, who's been the conditioning coach since 2008.
"The Blackhawks and longtime strength and conditioning coach Paul Goodman recently parted ways.
Goodman had been one of the Blackhawks' longest-tenured employees. He had been with the Blackhawks since 2008."

Blackhawks still looking for a new head coach: Is Jeff Blashill the right man for the job?
In the same paper, Lazerus and Powers also talked about Jeff Blashill, considered among the top contenders to land the head coaching position in Chicago.
They asked Shayna Goldman, The Athletic's coach expert, if she thought he'd be a great choice for the Hawks.
Here's what she had to say:
"It's hard to say because the roster he had to work with in Detroit was brutal. He was in Detroit for a long time and has so little to show for it, so it's tough. But there are a lot of head coaches who had crappy first gos and improved in their second stint. Scott Arniel and Mike Sullivan both come to mind.
Hopefully, he learned something from Cooper. He did a pretty good job with the penalty kill there.
I think having that space between HC gigs can give someone a lot of perspective, especially if they're watching what does work in this league, versus getting a new job five seconds after getting fired. That could be the key here - how much has he learned in a different role on what it takes to successfully coach in this league?"
The Blackhawks are likely to name a new head coach before hiring a conditioning coach, but all the vacant positions within the organization should be filled before development camp.
