The Chicago Blackhawks are officially locked in with the third overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL draft in June, and now many are digging deep to find out which generational talent the organization will draft.

Disappointment struck Blackhawks fans due to their second-best odds at landing the first overall pick at this years NHL draft lottery, nonethenless third overall will surely grant the organization another generational talent to pair alongside Connor Bedard.
This pushed the Sharks back to the second overall selection, despite their worst league-wide record last season.
While certain hopes to land one of the highley touted Matthew Schaefer or Michael Misa quickly faded away, the organization still has a handful of options of targets to choose from in this year's draft class.

Blackhawks draft target: Porter Martone

Several sources have recently confirmed the Blackhawks' peak interest in Porter Martone, who greatly fits the offensive description of what the franchise might be looking for in a top-six winger alongside Connor Bedard.
Martone is a six-foot-three forward who has an incredible scoring touch and is also classified as a power forward. The Blackhawks' youth movement up front is quite impressive so far, including names like Oliver Moore and Frank Nazar, but there is no size or strength to the current core of young players.
The 18-year old forward has spent the past three seasons in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League), and a large raise in his production has surfaced recently.
Tallying 37 goals in 61 assists, giving him 98 points in 57 games this past season. Martone's strong puck possession game mixed with his all-around offensive abilities would make him Connor Bedard's most ideal linemate candidate.
