The Chicago Blackhawks' draft position was officially determined on Monday through the lottery, now the organization must make a decision on who to select third overall.

Blackhawks team reporter of The Athletic, Scott Powers, recently revealed insight on who Kyle Davidson may select with their third-overall pick and it's no surprise.
Powers reveals that the Blackhawks will indeed be selecting a forward with their third overall selection, and provided insight on some name we could see becoming a member of the organization shortly:
"Will it be Porter Martone? Caleb Desnoyers? Anton Frondell? James Hagens? Davidson didn't tip his hand, just as he didn't even when he drafted Bedard, but those are the names Davidson is expected to be choosing among. If Michael Misa somehow fell to third, the Blackhawks would be there to swoop him up."

Blackhawks set to draft Porter Martone second overall

Seconded by another team reporter, Charlie Roumeliotis, in his latest message posted revealed that Porter Martone will be selected by the Blackhawks third overall.
Porter Martone, RW

Martone excelled in the OHL this season with 98 points (37 goals, 61 assists) in 57 games. Although he had a quiet showing for Team Canada at the World Juniors, his size (6-foot-2, 208 pounds) and scoring instincts make him a compelling option. He's not the fastest skater, which could be a point of hesitation for a Blackhawks team emphasizing speed, but his physical, net-front presence would add a different element to a prospect pool that doesn't have much of it.

With defenseman Matthew Schaefer projected to go first overall, the Blackhawks were hoping to land the second overall selection in hopes of drafting whichever forward they'd like.
However, the New York Islanders' sudden jump to landing the first overall pick truly messed up the entire lottery, and now the Blackhawks will have to narrow down two names and make their selection based on the San Jose Sharks' second-overall pick.
