Former Chicago Blackhawk Corey Perry receives boos in front of home crowd on NHL opening night
A former member of the Chicago Blackhawks was booed by his new home crowd during the NHL opening night.
Last night, the first games of the NHL regular season were held, with six teams in action.
Among them, the Los Angeles Kings faced the Colorado Avalanche, a matchup between two teams with high aspirations this season.
However, another player provoked reactions from fans before the game, in the players' presentation.
But that didn't prevent him from being at the arena for the game and being a part of the pre-game ceremony.
When he was presented to the crowd, Perry got some mixed reactions in the stands, but notable boos were heard.
Perry played most of his career with one of the Kings' biggest rivals, the Anaheim Ducks, before joining the Edmonton Oilers-the team that has been eliminating the Kings in the first round of the playoffs for the past four years now.
The fan reaction is understandable and not surprising to see.
Now, it'll be up to Perry to get on the fans' good side by helping the Kings win. Once he's ready to hit the ice and have an impact on the ice, the boos should slowly but surely quiet down.
