Unfortunate offseason news has struck the Montreal Canadiens organization involving forward Kirby Dach and his career-long battle with injuries.

Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach is still not fully recovered from his knee surgery performed on February 28.
Dach is six months post-surgery and just less than 40 days until the start of Canadiens training camp following his injury in the 2024-25 season.
In the 2023-24 season, Dach was injured in his second game of the season, which resulted in having ACL and MCL tears in his right knee surgery repaired.
This is worrying news for the Canadiens and Dach in general, as his injury history continues to pile up so early on into his career.
Rather than preparing for the upcoming season with teammates who've already hit the ice in Montreal, Dach has been rehabbing in Edmonton.
"Now, I learned yesterday that Kirby Dach is spending the summer in Edmonton with Kaiden Guhle - Dach is from Saskatchewan and Guhle is from Alberta - and that Dach is still in rehab.

I repeat: five months after his most recent knee surgery and about 40 days before the start of training camp, Kirby Dach is still not recovered and ready to play."

Kirby Dach's NHL career could be cut short following lacklustre injury history

Dach's NHL career has already been cut quite short, with 223 games already missed, the majority coming from injuries.
The Blackhawks completed trade with the Canadiens in 2022 saw Chicago land the 13th overall pick in exchange for Kirby Dach, which was later used to draft Frank Nazar.
Compared to the average NHL career span of seven years, it would be unfortunate, but no surprise if Dach's ended much earlier.
We wish Kirby the best in a speedy recovery!
