In 2022, the Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Blackhawks combined for a trade for forward Kirby Dach, as Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks would select Frank Nazar with the 1st-round pick acquired, winning this trade outright.
The Chicago Blackhawks traded center Kirby Dach to the Montreal Canadiens in 2022 for the 13th overall pick in 2022 and a third-round pick.
The 13th overall pick would become Frank Nazar, a US NDTP prospect and future Blackhawk.
He's become a key piece in the team's rebuild as GM Kyle Davidson inked him to a 7-year, $46.13 million deal today.
Confirming the fact that he's the man of the future on the 2nd line for the Hawks:
"The Chicago Blackhawks and forward Frank Nazar have agreed to the terms of a contract extension: 7 years for just under $6.6 million per year. "

Frank Nazar: The Future of the Chicago Blackhawks
Nazar has found himself in the NHL as a result of a successful 21-game stint in the AHL, scoring 24 points (11-13). He'd follow it up in the NHL playing 53 games as a Blackhawk, and scoring 26 points (12-14), earning every penny of his new deal.
The sky is the limit for Frank Nazar, who is the future 2C in Chicago.
While Kirby Dach hasn't been able to live up to his draft status in both Chicago and Montreal.
Dach has had no more than 38 points a season in Montreal, and hasn't played a full year of hockey in a Habs jersey yet. Last season, he played 57 games and scored 22 points (10-12) as the former 3rd overall pick in 2019, continues to disappoint.
