The Seth Jones trade is looking like a total win for the Chicago Blackhawks right now and a recent report confirms the Panthers made a clear mistake

The Florida Panthers, who traded for Jones on March 1st in exchange for goalie Spencer Knight and a draft pick, are scratching their heads.
In his first seven games with Florida, the Panthers have been outscored 6-1 at 5-on-5 when Jones is on the ice.
His expected goals percentage sits at a rough 41.61, which isn't pretty whatsoever, especially being on seventh best team in the NHL.
For a guy who was supposed to bolster their defense, those numbers are tough to swallow.
Meanwhile, back in Chicago, Spencer Knight is stealing the show.
The young goalie has been super solid since the trade, winning over Blackhawks fans with promising goaltender - something the city of Chicago has not witnessed in years.
It's early, but it's hard not to think Chicago struck gold here.
Knight's confidence in net is giving the team a boost, while Jones is struggling to find his footing with the Panthers, even though they're the defending Stanley Cup champs.
Jones was expected to thrive with a strong team around him, but so far, that's not happening.
His flaws on the defensive end of things are being exposed big time, and Panthers fans have already had enough of Jones:
"Good morning. Like I said when Ekblad went out, the season is toast. There's no depth on the back end and Seth Jones is a liability. Balinskis doesn't belong on a NHL roster. A team that was super structured a week ago now has zero structure or on-ice accountability. Trouble."
Some thought the change of scenery from Chicago's rebuilding team to Florida's contender would hide those weaknesses. Instead, it's exposing them.
Seven games isn't everything, but it's a rough start.
Chicago fans are cheering for Knight, while Florida might be wondering what they got in Jones. If this keeps up, the Blackhawks could look back on March 1st as the day they pulled off a heist.
