Hockey world mourns the loss of longtime player at the age of 45 following a freak accident

The hockey community is mourning the tragic loss of a former member of the New York Rangers, Tomas Kloucek, at the young age of 45
A former member of the New York Rangers has passed away at the age of 45 after a reported freak accident in Medvedin, Czech Republic.
Tomas Kloucek had quite the impressive hockey resume throughout his life-long career.
Klouček scored 10 (2+8) points in 141 career games in the NHL with the New York Rangers, Nashville Predators, and Atlanta Thrashers from 2000-2006.
He also played professionally for the Hartford Wolf Pack, Milwaukee Admirals, Chicago Wolves Syracuse Crunch, HC Zlín, Barys Astana, Lev Poprad, HC Ocelaři Třinec, HC Kosice, Orli Znojmo, Rytiři Kladno, and Wildcats d'Épinal, up until retirement in 2017.
He also played professionally for the Hartford Wolf Pack, Milwaukee Admirals, Chicago Wolves Syracuse Crunch, HC Zlín, Barys Astana, Lev Poprad, HC Ocelaři Třinec, HC Kosice, Orli Znojmo, Rytiři Kladno, and Wildcats d'Épinal, up until retirement in 2017.
Tomas Kloucek passed away at 45
Sadly, it is being reported that the 45-year old struck a pole while skiing.
"The former NHL defenseman crashed into an electrical switchboard at the edge of the slope. Although he was wearing a helmet and the pole was protected by soft material, police said, there was no way he could be helped."
The police reportedly saidHis pro career in the NHL began in 2000 and ended in 2006, spending time with the New York Rangers, Atlanta Thrashers and Nashville Predators, accumulating 141 games played and 10 points.
Kloucek also spent a long period of time with the Chicago Wolves, Syracuse Crunch, Hartford Wolf Pack and Milwaukee Admirals.
Kloucek won the Calder Cup in 2000 with the Hartford Wolf Pack, before going on to secure a champion in a Slovakian League.
