Ridiculous trade proposal sees the Chicago Blackhawks trading pick No. 3 to the Buffalo Sabres
The Chicago Blackhawks are poised to make waves with a 3rd-round pick in 2025, but what if they used it to acquire players like Bowen Byram and JJ Peterak from the Sabres?

Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres are moving along in their rebuilds. While the Blackhawks enter a new phase of their rebuild, the Sabres remain ongoing.
The Sabres are on a 14-year playoff drought, and GM Kevyn Adams will have to go back to the drawing board to retool, than tearing it down again.
Two players who could be casualties of this, as a result, are
JJ Peterka and Bowen Byram.
The Blackhawks and Sabres are in two different spots at the moment. With players like Byram underperforming, and Peterka (RFA) could be subject to offer sheets, he may have to find takers elsewhere.
With the Blackhawks looking to push forward,
Connor Bedard's production and timeline, a move like this for two Sabres players like Byram and Peterka could be sensible.
Here's what the deal could look like:
The Sabres would then have a shot at acquiring top talent in 2025 with their 3rd overall pick, while the Blackhawks upgrade their blue line and get an electric forward to play on the same line as Bedard.
The Sabres will get a consistent goalie in Laurent Brossoit when he's healthy, along with the shot at drafting Porter Martone, or Michael Misa, depending on who's left at 3 OA.
