While Kylle Dubas is retooling the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup, we could end up seeing Sidney Crosby land in Colorado, a Chicago Blackhawks divisional rival.

According to TheScore's John Matisz, there are five prime landing spots for the two-time Stanley Cup champion, Sidney Crosby.
Crosby, who is currently living through a retool in Pittsburgh, would like to raise lord Stanley's Cup one last time before he retires.
Something that won't happen while Kyle Dubas is in charge of the team.
Earlier, before the season began, trade rumors began to swirl, Pat Brisson mentioned that there'd be a possibility of him leaving Pittsburgh.
A notion once unthinkable beforehand.
Later, Crosby would attempt to save face:
Crosby subsequently asserted that Pittsburgh is "where I want to be."

But there remains a possibility that it still could happen, given that the Penguins aren't contenders this year.
Could he find a new home before March?

Sidney Crosby To The Colorado Avalanche?

Sidney Crosby could find an ideal scenario in Colorado with the Avalanche, in the Chicago Blackhawks' Central division.
The Avalanche are perennial playoff contenders and could be a fit for the Penguins' captain.
He has connections via Nova Scotia through Nathan MacKinnon, who would easily lure him there, and the coaching staff has produced a cup-winning team before in 2022.
Adding Crosby would stack an already deep Avalanche team, which has been a thorn in the Blackhawks' side in the West over the year.
Last year, the team finished 3rd in the Central Division with a 49-29-4 record and were knocked out of the playoffs by the Dallas Stars.
The addition of someone like Crosby would give them a better look in the postseason, as MacKinnon and Crosby would be another unstoppable duo, like we've seen in Edmonton with Draisaitl and McDavid.
It's troubling for Blackhawks fans that this could be a realistic scenario if he reaches free agency or if Kyle Dubas decides that he could extract a good amount of value from a contender like the Avalanche.
