NHL completed major announcement on former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith
The Chicago Blackhawks made a major announcement today as retired defenseman and three-time Stanley Cup champion Duncan Keith has been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Duncan Keith's illustrious career will be honored as part of the 2025 Class, which will be inducted into the HHOF in Toronto this year.
The former Blackhawks defenseman is a three-time Stanley Cup champion and part of the last dynasty in the NHL in the 2010s.
Keith began his career with the Blackhawks during the 2005-06 season and won his first Stanley Cup with teammates
Patrick Kane and
Jonathan Toews during the 2009-10 season.
They would repeat in 2013 and 2015, proving themselves a dominant force in the NHL to contend with.
Keith would win the Norris Trophy twice and the Conn Smythe Trophy once during his NHL career
In 2022, he'd retire from the NHL for good and join the Edmonton Oilers front office in a player development role, and he has stuck with the organization since.
Keith was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks 54th overall in the 2002 NHL Draft and has put himself in the Hawks' record books.
He's the all-time leader in Blackhawks defenseman for games played (1,192), and second in assists (502) and points (625).
Keith's offensive prowess during the postseason didn't stop, as he's ranked fourth in goals with 18, while leading the team in assists (68) and points (86).
Keith's success has spanned into international play with Canada in the Olympics, winning silver medals in 2010 and 2014, while earning a silver medal in 2008 in the IIHF World Championships.
