NFL's Chicago Bears Officially Announce $5B Relocation to Arlington Heights
The Chicago Bears and QB Caleb Williams are set to have a new home, as the team has decided to relocate to Arlington Heights, according to CEO Kevin Warren.
The
Chicago Bears made a splash in the offseason during free agency, picking up players to bolster their team. Jonah Jackson, Travis Homer, and Joe Thuney were just some of the players involved in signings by the team.
"Over the last few months, we have made significant progress with the leaders in Arlington Heights, and look forward to continuing to work with state and local leaders on making a transformative economic development project for the region a reality," the Bears said in a statement obtained by ESPN.
Now, it appears that, in addition to new players, they'll have a new home to go as the team is officially relocating to Arlington Heights.
Arlington Heights will be where the team's new stadium is located, and where the new look Bears can begin their new dynasty, led by Caleb Williams.
The
Bears officially purchased the property in September 2021 for a total of $197.2 million. The original plans involved building a multibillion-dollar stadium, which will move ahead after the announcement today.
Arlington Village officially approved the deal for a review of the whopping $5 billion plan to build a stadium in the suburbs. Construction was supposed to begin in 2025, according to CEO Kevin Warren.
The Bears finished 4th in the NFC North with a terrible record of 5-12-0, .294 in 2024.
Can Caleb Williams and the team rebound next season, with new leadership and eventually a new NFL Stadium?
