They fired Eberflus and hired Thomas Brown, the team's offensive coordinator as the new Head Coach.
It seems like with the current moves going on at this point in the NHL, and NFL maybe, just maybe Davidson could take a hint. The Blackhawks are 8-12-2 and 7th in the Central Division, just not good enough, especially for Bedard's sophomore season.
The Bruins removed a winning coach, only for the rival St. Louis Blues to snag him up. Montgomery's presence in the Western Conference means, that they need someone of that caliber behind the bench.
But that would mean getting rid of Luke Richardson, who has arguably had difficulty developing Bedard the way he should.
Richardson's management of talent in Chicago is the same story many coaches go through, they bring out the line blender when there are no other options left. Instead of building chemistry, he builds lines with no purpose or value for the Hawks.
This Blackhawks team should be remarkably better than it is now, and even the Anaheim Ducks are doing better this season. A former bottom-dwelling organization has seen its young talent slowly trickle in and make a difference.
The time to make a decision is now.
Multiple coaches are available at this point in the season, including Jay Woodcroft, Gerard Gallant, and even Joel Quenneville.
While there's no requirement for retreads( Coach Q), the dynasty from his last coaching tenure will remain legendary in the NHL.
That's to say, that Davidson shouldn't select him, but with Jay Woodcroft available maybe there's one solution.
Woodcroft has experience winning in the AHL with the Bakersfield Condors, with a 105-71-21 record, and winning the Pacific Division championship in 2020-2021.
This was after his first Pacific Division title which he secured in 2019.
Woodcroft's tenure with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers was a successful record of 79-41-13, and a .643 winning percentage.
That was over two partial seasons and one full season in the NHL.
Woodcroft's last gig saw him in the IIHF serving as coaching staff under Andre Tourigny, in the Men's World Tournament for Team Canada.
Maybe it's time to give him another shot in the best league in the world?
