Lukas Reichel seeks revenge on Blackhawks Wednesday: "I want to show that the Canucks made the right move"

The Chicago Blackhawks will have their hands full on Wednesday with their former 1st-round pick, Lukas Reichel, intending revenge on his former team.
To say being traded doesn't hurt (it was
gut-wrenching, according to the forward) would be a lie, and for Reichel, he's had the generosity of finding a new home in Vancouver, playing on the team's 2nd line, with
Filip Chytil out on injury.
The
plane trip there was a bit of an issue, but he's settled in, playing six games already for the Pacific Division team.
The former 17th-overall pick in 2020 will play tonight with a purpose:
Lukas Reichel went out to dinner with 14 of his former Blackhawks teammates last night here in Vancouver, but there won't be any friendship tonight.
«I want to show that the Canucks made the right move.»
Lukas Reichel is Focused on Revenge Against the Chicago Blackhawks
Reichel arguably had plenty of chances here in Chicago to establish himself. GM Kyle Davidson was flexible enough to give him time in the minors in order to find his confidence in 2024-25, and we saw him excel in the World Championships.
However, his fall-off last season wasn't acceptable to the Blackhawks management, having played 70 games and scored 22 points (8-14) as a former 1st-round pick.
Now a substitute for Filip Chytil, he'll have a chance to prove to his former team that they made the wrong mistake.
Although he'll have to get through
Spencer Knight first. Reichel has played 6 games for the Canucks so far and has been held scoreless in those contests.
This season in 11 games, he'd only scored 4 points (2-2) and now has to adjust to Adam Foote's style of hockey.
The growing pains that come with a trade.
Revenge may be his first order, but it seems like right now, Reichel might be up to his old ways with his stat line.
