A last-minute announcement by the Chicago Blackhawks was just made involving newly appointed head coach Jeff Blashill, just moments before the start of the upcoming season.
The organization and fan base eagerly await the upcoming season which is set to showcase several new faces, including Andre Burakovsky, who was acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade that took place on June 21st.
But perhaps the biggest piece of them all is their newest bench boss Jeff Blashill.
He was formally introduced as the team's new head coach on May 22nd and is set to guide the next wave of youth to the next level, including forward Connor Bedard.

In August, the hockey scene is quite quiet. But one thing that's confirmed is Blashill's early arrival to the city of Chicago and an exciting first appearance, to say the least.

He took the mound in front of a packed Cubs crowd and made a decent throw for the first pitch at Wrigley Field.
With the season fast approaching, it was a great opportunity for Blashill to build a presence for himself as the new man behind the bench for the Blackhawks.
The real pressure will be on October 7th, when the Blackhawks face off against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers in their first game of the regular season.
