Insider identifies the next Blackhawk players who could be traded away
An NHL analyst has identified the next players who could end up getting traded away from the Chicago Blackhawks organization by Kyle Davidson.
Reichel struggled to find consistency in the NHL since he entered the League during the 2021-22 season. Twenty-two goals and 36 assists in 174 games with the Blackhawks later, he's now a member of the Vancouver Canucks, who sent a 2027 fourth-round pick in return.
Now, two days after the trade, other players are starting to emerge in trade talks.
New Report Lists Five New Trade Candidates In Chicago
According to The Hockey News, there are five players who are obvious trade candidates on Chicago's lineup, assuming they aren't in the playoff race.
It's not surprising to see that most of the team's veteran core was included. The Hawks are already the second-youngest team in the entire NHL, and it's safe to bet it'll get even younger in the coming years.
Many top prospects are waiting for the call-up, such as
Oliver Moore, while some others are waiting for their contractual obligations to end, like
Anton Frondell.
If Davidson wants to add younger players to the lineup, he'll need to make them some room.
In my opinion, the team is much more likely to part ways with a forward. Having veteran defensemen in a unit is crucial to help the younger guys develop. If Murphy and Grzelcyk get traded, the Hawks would have a hole on the blue line.
In the end, it'll all depend on who they're after. If they want to make a big acquisition, the team will need to trade away players with more value, such as
Kevin Korchinski or even
Ethan Del Mastro.
