General manager Kyle Davidson of the Chicago Blackhawks believes the team and Connor Bedard are playing with their A-game this year.

During an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Ben Pope, General Manager, and Kyle Davidson shared his excitement for the beginning of the season for the Blackhawks.
Under new management, the Blackhawks look like a new team, and with new faces in the lineup, there's promise growing as players develop.
One of those players is former 1st overall pick Connor Bedard, in his third year in the NHL.
He's had a hot start to the year, scoring 18 points (7-11) in 14 games this season as the team's first-line superstar.
Kyle Davidson wouldn't shy away from a glowing review of Bedard's first 14 games this year.
«He's been fantastic,» Davidson said. "[In] his season this year, you can take almost all those games, and those might be the best games he's played in the NHL.

«It's a young player growing into the league. You're going to see those growth points naturally, but he's a very motivated person. He puts in the work to get better. He's thorough in his process and how he wants to grow his game, and we're seeing the fruits of that.»

Connor Bedard is coincidentally playing in a contract year

Rather than signing a new deal with his long-term home in the NHL right away, he has bet on himself to deliver a nice new contract.
The next contract we expect could pay him upwards of $10 million AAV (average annual value) if we go by speculation.
Jeff Blashill might've been a failure in Detroit, but in Chicago, he's turned the Blackhawks into a high-flying machine.
The team is 6-5-3 and 5th in the Central Division.
