Chicago Blackhawks' trade fate in acquiring Jason Robertson confirmed: They are officially out per insider
According to NHL Insider Pierre LeBrun of TSN, GM Jim Nill of the Dallas Stars has been taking calls on the 80-point forward, but more or less, it has clarified where the Blackhawks stand.
When it comes to prying
Jason Robertson away from the Dallas Stars, the Blackhawks aren't in the hunt, according to LeBrun.
Dallas isn't shopping
Robertson, but they are taking calls, and with his contract situation looming, the possibility of a trade is very real, LeBrun explained.
LeBrun believes that teams like the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, and Utah Mammoth could be front-runners.
The reason is, the Blackhawks wouldn't have anyone to swap with the Stars in return.
The Blackhawks as a team are in the midst of a rebuild and don't have the kind of superstar NHL players to move, aside from
Connor Bedard, who is a no-go, as the foundation of the team.
The Chicago Blackhawks Are out of The Jason Robertson Sweepstakes
While trading for Robertson would be a coup for Kyle Davidson, the former 80-point (35-45) in 82 games forward is likely bound for a contender or a bubble team like some of the ones we've mentioned above.
For now, this is a bonus for Blackhawks fans, as we get to see the team experience some continuity and build off the chemistry from last season.
It's regrettable the Blackhawks won't find a spot for Robertson, but they're a team building for the future.
