Tonight will be a milestone for Captain Nick Foligno, as the Blackhawks announced tonight would be his 1,200th career NHL game against the Knights.
Foligno, who made his debut in the NHL on October 3rd, 2007 with the
Ottawa Senators will be the 133rd player in NHL history to play 1200 games.
This is a huge milestone for Foligno, who has seen some of his best action during his career in a Blue Jackets, and Bruins sweater.
His career totals before tonight are as follows: 1,199 games played, 581 points (243 G, 338 A), and 954 PIMs.
Foligno will have played 1200 NHL games after tonight and has found a new home in Chicago after his arrival from Boston.
This is his second season in a Blackhawks uniform, and has been one veteran who has been here for players like
Connor Bedard, and a leadership presence in the locker room.
While we feel the pains of
Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews's absence, Foligno has been a stalwart during his time here.
Foligno, a popular figure throughout the league, would say the same about his captaincy. «Honestly, being a captain of an Original Six team is a 'pinch me' moment. I understand my role here and I am grateful to be in that position.
Tonight, he should exercise the "pinch me" feeling and take it as a call to duty as they have to make his 1200th game a victory and not just a moral victory against the Golden Knights.
