Blackhawks host press conference and come forward with latest injury updates

The Chicago Blackhawks have multiple players out on injury, thankfully not like the laundry list we saw last season. Here's an update on their status.
The Chicago Blackhawks and
Connor Bedard need all the help they can get this season in order to improve their rank in the Central Division.
After last night's overtime loss to the Nashville Predators, the team feels the pain of those missing from the lineup.
Many of the younger players who have filled in since their absence have done a good job, but have failed to get victories when they should have.
The Chicago Blackhawks currently have defenseman Connor Murphy out of the lineup with a groin injury. He's been absent since the Winter Classic, but no major updates on Murphy so far. Today he took part in a skate before the rest of his teammates took the ice. The timeline for a return hasn't been set.
The Blackhawks continue to miss depth forward Craig Smith, who has been a big help in the lineup. He's been out with a back injury since January 8th and Interim Coach Anders Sorensen hasn't been able to give us a clear timeline on when he'll be skating again.
And lastly, we arrive at the topic of Laurent Brossoit who has now missed half of the NHL season due to multiple surgeries.
With news of his recent knee surgery, we'd hope there's positive news about his return to the Blackhawks lineup.
But we have yet to receive any idea of when he'll return to the lineup, considering he's had two knee surgeries this season.
