With high offseason expectations surrounding the organization, the Blackhawks are beginning their offseason with two signings in one week.
Things kicked off with the signing of Ryan Donato to a four-year contract extension, the 29-year old forward had a career high season last year while leading the Blackhawks roster in goals with 31.
At $4M a year for Donato, it was a no brainer for Kyle Davidson to complete the signing.
But what about other veteran leaders, including a team captain?
Davidson has wasted no time on ensuring his youth will have mentors around him, with the signing today of the team captain.
The Blackhawks have announced the signing of Brett Seney, who played with the Blackhawks previously and served as the Rockford IceHogs' captain, welcome back!
"I'm extremely excited to have Brett return for the next two seasons", said IceHogs General Manager, Mark Bernard.

"He has been a key fixture for our play on the ice and the leadership group in the locker room.

Brett will be key in helping this current pool of prospects learn to be pros and develop their games."
