Patrick Kane has made a big admission about his time in Detroit during the Red Wings' exit-interview session on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings woke up to being out of playoff contention for their ninth consecutive year while holding season-exit interviews for several players, who reflected on the team's lackluster season.
Patrick Kane's comments drew the most attention out of the bunch as he offered insight on his future with the Detroit Red Wings.
The 36-year-old veteran is coming off a large hip resurfacing surgery that no player has ever been the same after, but Kane's 59 points in 72 games this season proved that it could be done.
During Kane's season-ending media interview, he revealed that he is very well open to returning to the Red Wings next season as he will be a free agent this summer.
Although Kane stated discussions are still to come, he is very confident that both sides have mutual feelings on his return, shutting down a potential return to Chicago.
«I think there's definitely some mutual interest in coming back and continuing on here,» Kane said.

Kane also discussed a dynamic that's playing a big role in his decision to not explore the open market, and it's his son, Patrick Kane III, who has a strong relationship with teammate Alex DeBrincat's son Archie.
«Imagine I took him away from Archie,» Kane said. «He'd be crushed.»

The three-time Stanley Cup Champion and once beloved Blackhawks forward revealed he would like to play many more years to hit a personal milestone of 1,500 games played.
Kane now enters next season with 1,302 games played in his career with a whopping 1,343 points throughout that span.
He is surely Hall of Fame bound, but not for many more years, it seems!
