Recently announced as the Chicago Blackhawks next head coach Jeff Blashill, is now receiving heat from a former defenseman of his.

The Blackhawks are set to be led by Jeff Blashill with his rich history of coaching experience in the 2025-26 season, but a recent comment by Mikhail Sergachev of the Utah Mammoth is raising eyebrows.
Blashill's experience goes back to coaching the Detroit Red Wings from 2015 to 2022, as well as the Tampa Bay Lightning as an assistant behind head coach Jon Cooper.
Before Blashill can even coach a game behind the Chicago Blackhawks bench, he faces heavy critisicm.
Not from fans; this time it's from Utah Mammoth's top defenseman and a Stanley Cup champion, Mikhail Sergachev.
In a recent interview, Sergachev opened up about his true feelings on the struggles that he faces with the Tampa Bay Lightning, dishing all the blame on newly named Blackhawks Jeff Blashill.
«And then we changed our system - the coach from Detroit came in. I mean, we had gone to three finals, and this guy comes in and says: 'We're not playing like that anymore. Now we're playing like [explative] Vegas.' And we're all like, 'Why?' He goes, 'They have a better system. It'll work for us.' Well, it didn't work for me. Didn't work for anyone. Everyone ended up with a negative plus-minus, we were all getting outscored."

-Mikhail Sergachev

Blashill tallied up a record of 138-86-20 while behind the bench with the Tampa Bay Lightning and went 204-261-72 with the Detroit Red Wings.
