Chicago Blackhawks goaltender scores historic goalie goal

Something truly rare has happened tonight, and it just so happened to be done by a Blackhawk; a goalie goal.

Jaxson Stauber, starting goalie of the Rockford Icehogs of the AHL, has scored a goalie goal against the Chicago Wolves to assist a 4-0 shutout. And it happened on their Taylor Swift night.


Stauber, 24 years old, lost his spot to Arvid Soderblom last year. When Stauber was up here during the 2022-23 campaign, he was actually fairly good, having a 5-1 record, 2.81 GAA and a .911 SV%.


But, this season in the AHL has been different. The Icehogs have been struggling, and Stauber's been struggling with them. He currently has a .894 SV% and a 3.16 GAA.

However, no one can take what he did away from them. He shot the puck 200 feet down the ice and scored, then led the crew to the bench.
