Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson on the hot seat over fallen move involving David Carle
Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson is feeling some heat after missing out on hiring University of Denver head coach David Carle to lead Chicago.
The Chicago Blackhawks were dealt a considerable blow today, as their reported top target for their head coaching search turned them down.
University of Denver men's ice hockey head coach David Carle, who is a hot commodity, has
taken his name out of the running for the position of Blackhawks head coach after what analyst Elliotte Friedman called an "aggressive pursuit" for his services.
Barstool Sports Chicago host asked the question that many Chicago fans are wondering right now - why were they rejected?
Very curious what made Carle say no
I can't imagine it was money. He makes good money at DU, but Chicago probably would triple his salary.
If it's not moneywhat is it?
He continued with a follow up remark:
If David Carle takes a different NHL job the Blackhawks will have some explaining to do. Great city, original 6, etc. You'd think they'd have plenty to pitch a candidate.
Did Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson not make an adequate enough pitch to Carle? It's a fair question.
After another bad start to the year, Davidson fired Luke Richardson and replaced him with Rockford IceHogs bench boss Anders Sorenson, who became the 1st Swedish-born head coach in NHL history.
Sorenson is being considered on a full-time basis by Davidson after he went 17-30-9. Other names that could be considered include former St. Louis Blues head coach Drew Bannister, former Seattle Kraken head coach Dan Bylsma, and former Detroit Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde.
