The NHL Draft has just finished, and we've found footage of the former 1st overall pick in 2023, Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks, being a force for good, signing autographs for fans!

Connor Bedard was drafted two years ago this weekend, and has found himself ending his sophomore year in the NHL playing all 82 games, and scoring 67 points.
Fortunately for Bedard, there was no jaw injury this year, which put him out of the lineup for 14 games.
Instead, he had to work through a slump in order to regain a foothold in the production we'd expect out of him. A year after winning the Calder Trophy, he'd score 6 more points in his sophomore season.
Bedard is great at respecting his fans and showing his willingness to engage with them without pretense. As we've found footage of Bedard taking time out of his practice schedule to sign autographs.
Although some did not like the way Bedard shrugged off the kids:
"Kid needs to humble himself."
Not only does it seem to be a reaffirmation of Bedard's statement that he wants to remain a Blackhawk, but he also values the fans' time and patience by rewarding them with a simple thing as an autograph.
For people, including Bedard, time is a precious commodity, and he values it as he strives to improve his skating for the upcoming as he's stated he wants to improve his speed.
The role of a 1st overall pick, isn't just being a superstar on the ice, it's being a community figure and role model.
That including dropping any pretense that you don't owe fans anything, respect is the baseline, and he goes above and beyond for his young fans which we've seen since the start of his NHL career.
